The post below was from last summer when Landon went to Show Low and my sister and her son Tanner came out for a visit. Apparently I never posted it and it was saved as a draft. Wow 3 (sort of!!) post in one day!! I am on a roll!! :)

Hello...anybody there???

Ok...so I have determined that I suck at blogging. Why, I am not sure since I have plenty of time at work to post as much as I want but I chaulk it up to being lazy. So with that all being said, let's get down to business!!

Landon started first grade last week and so far so good. He seems to like it for now and still really enjoys going to his after care program where he can run around and play with his friends. He went to the Boys and Girls Club during the summer and thought that was great. So much so, that we are going to sign him up again for next summer!! It really is a great program and they do some really great activities with the kids. He also got to spend a week in Show Low with his Grandparent's (my in-laws) which was a great break for us and also a great break for Landon.

We dropped him off on July 24th (which was also my birthday) and spent the night there. He got to go fishing for the first time while there which he really enjoyed but unfortunately did not catch anything. They went and visited an Alpaca farm which was apparently pretty interesting but they kind of creeped me out based on this picture I got from my mother-in-law.

If you ask me, Landon looks a little unsure of what is going on behind him as well. While we were there we all visited a farm that had pony and horse rides and a bunch of other activities for all to enjoy. Dylan hopped right on the pony with no hesitation but Landon was a bit more trepid. It took Dylan going around a couple of times before he decided he would like to give it a try.

After that, there was no stopping them!Landon and his grandparent's really had fun together and it was a great opportunity for some one on one time for the 3 of them. We can't wait for the summer when they take both the boys for a week!!! :)

Last week we had my sister Mindy and her son Tanner here for a visit from Colorado. It was so nice to have them here and get to spend time with them since we don't see each other as much as we would like. The week was basically spent swimming and eating and swimming some more. By the time they left, we were all exhausted!!!

Breaking Glass

So here's a great story that I just had to share. This morning Dylan had a complete melt down because Zach tied his tennis shoes and not me. You would think it was the end of the world by the way he was screaming and crying. During the chaos mine and Zach's cell phones rang but we didn't hear them due to the wild cries of a 4 year old. In a moment of silence my cell phone rang again and it was my dad. I picked the phone up and here's how the conversation went:

Me: "Hi Dad."
Dad: "Are you guys ok?"
Me: "Yea, why?"
Dad: "Your alarm company called me and said that there was a report of glass shattering in your dining room and they were not able to get a hold of you or Zach."
Me: "That's strange. Our alarm hasn't gone off. I will have Zach look into it. Thanks for calling."

He is our emergency contact should our alarm go off and neither Zach or I could be reached. While I was on the phone with my dad Zach was on his phone with the alarm company asking them to not send the police that everything was ok. Apparently a signal was sent to the alarm company that glass was shattered in our kitchen due to our wonderful Dylan. His cries and screams are loud enough and high enough to set off our silent alarm!! Can you believe that??!! It was a frustrating morning but after that, we had to laugh. Got to love kids!!
