The post below was from last summer when Landon went to Show Low and my sister and her son Tanner came out for a visit. Apparently I never posted it and it was saved as a draft. Wow 3 (sort of!!) post in one day!! I am on a roll!! :)

Hello...anybody there???

Ok...so I have determined that I suck at blogging. Why, I am not sure since I have plenty of time at work to post as much as I want but I chaulk it up to being lazy. So with that all being said, let's get down to business!!

Landon started first grade last week and so far so good. He seems to like it for now and still really enjoys going to his after care program where he can run around and play with his friends. He went to the Boys and Girls Club during the summer and thought that was great. So much so, that we are going to sign him up again for next summer!! It really is a great program and they do some really great activities with the kids. He also got to spend a week in Show Low with his Grandparent's (my in-laws) which was a great break for us and also a great break for Landon.

We dropped him off on July 24th (which was also my birthday) and spent the night there. He got to go fishing for the first time while there which he really enjoyed but unfortunately did not catch anything. They went and visited an Alpaca farm which was apparently pretty interesting but they kind of creeped me out based on this picture I got from my mother-in-law.

If you ask me, Landon looks a little unsure of what is going on behind him as well. While we were there we all visited a farm that had pony and horse rides and a bunch of other activities for all to enjoy. Dylan hopped right on the pony with no hesitation but Landon was a bit more trepid. It took Dylan going around a couple of times before he decided he would like to give it a try.

After that, there was no stopping them!Landon and his grandparent's really had fun together and it was a great opportunity for some one on one time for the 3 of them. We can't wait for the summer when they take both the boys for a week!!! :)

Last week we had my sister Mindy and her son Tanner here for a visit from Colorado. It was so nice to have them here and get to spend time with them since we don't see each other as much as we would like. The week was basically spent swimming and eating and swimming some more. By the time they left, we were all exhausted!!!

Breaking Glass

So here's a great story that I just had to share. This morning Dylan had a complete melt down because Zach tied his tennis shoes and not me. You would think it was the end of the world by the way he was screaming and crying. During the chaos mine and Zach's cell phones rang but we didn't hear them due to the wild cries of a 4 year old. In a moment of silence my cell phone rang again and it was my dad. I picked the phone up and here's how the conversation went:

Me: "Hi Dad."
Dad: "Are you guys ok?"
Me: "Yea, why?"
Dad: "Your alarm company called me and said that there was a report of glass shattering in your dining room and they were not able to get a hold of you or Zach."
Me: "That's strange. Our alarm hasn't gone off. I will have Zach look into it. Thanks for calling."

He is our emergency contact should our alarm go off and neither Zach or I could be reached. While I was on the phone with my dad Zach was on his phone with the alarm company asking them to not send the police that everything was ok. Apparently a signal was sent to the alarm company that glass was shattered in our kitchen due to our wonderful Dylan. His cries and screams are loud enough and high enough to set off our silent alarm!! Can you believe that??!! It was a frustrating morning but after that, we had to laugh. Got to love kids!!

Birthday's and Disneyland!

Hi all!! Well we finally took the boys to Disneyland and had a great time!! We left on April 14th (Dylan's 4th birthday!!) and spent 4 days in LA. We had a birthday dinner Thursday night for Dylan and Zach at Johnny Rockets which was perfect and just the four of us.

I have to say that the boys were troopers since we kept them out and about all day everyday with little rest. We were able to ride almost all the rides even D since he is a giant boy!! He wasn't fond of the roller coasters and anything scary including the Buzz Light Year ride. He completely freaked out at the entrance because of the life size Buzz robot that talked. We thought for sure he would love it but apparently we were VERY wrong! We couldn't get him to get back on that one no matter how hard we tried. Landon on the other hand, LOVED all the rides especially the roller coasters. He ans Zach even closed Disneyland down the last night we were there. They didn't get back to the room until 1am!!

We saw the fireworks at Disneyland Friday night and caught the color water light show at California Adventure the next night. We had breakfast with Minnie and friends where the boys were able to get tons of character autographs. Who knew that they were huge fans of Chip and Dale?? While we were having ice cream at the ice cream parlor on main street Saturday afternoon (Disneyland was packed this day btw), Dylan, out of no where, asked us if Spiderman has a penis and a butt. WTF? Where does he come up with this stuff??? We were at Disneyland for God's sake! We of course laughed and Zach actually had to get up and leave cause he couldn't contain his laughter and I am pretty sure he really didn't know what to say either. Thankfully he was satisfied with my answer of yes and didn't ask anymore awkward questions in public with tons of people around!! Here are some pictures from our trip. Enjoy!

So sad...

Yesterday my sister had a routine OB appt. to hear the baby's heartbeat and have a check up. Well they couldn't find the heartbeat and it turns out she apparently lost the baby somewhere around 7 weeks (she was 11 weeks yesterday). She and her husband are devastated as am I. My sister was just starting to get really excited about having a baby and then this happened. I just have to think that it was her body's way of saying that there was something wrong with the baby and that is why it happened. I know that she will not be able to get over this until she is pregnant again. I pray that that happens for them soon and that they have a beautiful healthy baby. Please keep Dawn and TJ in your thoughts today and send good vibes their way.

This past weekend

UGHH!!! All I have to say is I AM EXHAUSTED!!! I got a text from my girlfriend last week asking if I would be willing to keep her kids overnight Saturday night so her and her husband could go on a date. I thought it would be great since my boys have been asking to have a sleepover with them for the longest time. I had the whole night planned out. We were going to order pizza and watch movies and have strawberries with cool whip for dessert and it was going to be a blast! How bad could it be, right?? Well I woke up Saturday morning feeling like absolute hell. I was completely congestion and had full on chills. It was HORRIBLE!! The kids showed up at 7:30 and so it began. I took them all to dunkin donuts and then on to the older boys soccer practice. I tried to get the kids to hang out at the park for a while so I could just sit but they wanted nothing to do with playing. They wanted to go home which is so unusual for my kids at least. I can't remember my kids ever asking to leave the park but that's what happened. So we head home I feed the kids and proceed to try to sit down and rest. The kids wanted to watch TV and play video games ALL DAY! I had to beg them to go play outside and give me a break but they kept coming back inside. Someone always needed something so I finally gave up on the idea of rest. We got to dinner time and we ordered pizza and wings which the kids ate outside. FINALLY!! I got them all showered and ready for bed around 7:30 but of course they did not fall asleep until 9:30. We finally got them all to sleep just to be woken up in the middle of the night because someone had a bad dream. Ended up with 2 kids and myself on the couch and 2 kids in Landon's room. The good news is I felt tons better on Sunday morning and the kids got picked up at 1:30 and I was able to take a nap with my little one. That was A.W.E.S.O.M.E!!! My sister and I took my parent's out to dinner Sunday night for my mom's birthday and to celebrate my dad getting a job. It was great to get out without any kids and be able to spend some quality time with my parent's. One last thing...D learned how to make a number one with a new finger last night. Take a look.

Superbowl weekend

My parent's are both from Pennsylvania so needless to say, we are Steelers fan (when the Bronco's or Cardinals aren't playing them!!) so this Superbowl was especially an important one. My sister's husband is a Green Bay fan so we had a divided house but the tension was light. The most important part of the game was of course the food. We have meatball sliders, ham and cheese rolls, fruit tray, veggie tray, cheese and crackers, brownies and rice krispy treats and a delicious cake. It was awesome!! I am one of those people that gets ridiculously excited about food. As long as there is food involved I am in! The kids of course had fun running around and playing and Landon was yelling as loud as he could for the Steelers which was kind of annoying but cute at the same time. He gets excited about football like I do about food. His knowledge of all things football is pretty impressive and his intense love for the game is even more impressive. So to say a good time was had by all is by far and understatement. It would have been better of course if the Steelers won but at least it was a good game. Now excuse me while I go and buy some fat pants.
